This is a half-day course and normally delivered at the client’s workplace but can be delivered in our offices in Glasgow.
Contents of the course includes:
• Legal requirements, policies & procedures from the Health and Safety at Work Act, Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations and the Manual Handling Operations Regulations
• Hazard I.D. & Risk Assessment using the “TASK” model. Task – Individual – Load – Environment
• Types of Injuries that can occur from manual handling and the areas of the body that are most likely to be affected
• How to avoid injuries. Precautions to take to reduce injuries from occurring through training and managing the risks
• Safe lifting and carrying. The correct method of lifting and carrying various loads
• Videos and clips of injuries and practical guidance shown during the presentation
• Handouts are supplied to each student
